A New Way to Commute!

After spending my spare time searching for the various parts to convert my old 26er to an  E-Bike so I could use that get around to and from work all while getting a decent workout and getting a good dose of nature. Finally crunching the numbers I realized that it in turn could or would cost roughly the same as a brand new bike! So after a few weeks of pondering whether or not to get one I decided to pull the trigger and get one!

The model I purchased was the Trek Verve+ which features a Bosch 400 power supply and a Bosch ActiveLine crank motor. The battery supply is good for 60 miles which more than enough I was looking for, and the motor itself puts out a max out out of 20mph! The bike also features built in lights in the front and rear.  Which is really neat and convenient. The bike offers a total of four different power modes:

Eco- obviously the best for the battery

Touring- My personal favorite for commuting

Sport: adding in an extra kick with each peddle stroke.

Turbo: For that Friday out of work feeling! ( obviously puts out the most power per stroke.)

After outfitting the bike with panniers and a sweet Headlight I set out on a ride.

Instantly, I fell in love with the overall handling and the fun the bike offered. This was hands down one of the best bike purchases ever!  Getting up for work has never been this exciting; knowing I’ll be riding to work on a bike and saving the environment and gas money! If you are interested in an ebike I recommend heading to to the Trek bike store where the staff is very helpful with all of your needs and will even help fit you for your bike properly. Definitely a bike worth your time. 🤙🏽
